Let me introduce myself!

Hello! My name is Annalee Tennant and this is my space to share some thoughts, develop ideas and improve on my own work. Most of what’s currently on here is the result of Skillset and Crossover’s Multi-platform Producers course for New Entrants which I completed last year. Since then all of my ideas have been confined to scraps of paper which I am soon going to attempt to put up on here instead.

About Me:

I completed my first degree in Social Science specialising in Anthropology back in 2005 . It was a subject I chose because of a lifelong  passion for travel, culture, sociology, psychology and global issues. I went on to pursue a Masters degree in film because I wanted to tell stories about people and  the issues that are affecting them both inside and outside of our own country.

I am not at all interested in making worthy but dull programmes. I believe there are clever ways to educate, inform and entertain at the same time. I would like to encourage people to discover their own worlds and meet people they wouldn’t normally meet. The multi-platform world opens up the possibility to reach wider audiences and encourage engagement, participation and enjoyment in real world situations.

My ideas therefore tend to range from new ways of seeing the world, to exploring social issues and raising awareness of the plights of others, or just simply entertaining the audience. Hopefully my ideas are relevant, engaging and exciting.

Personal Life:

Any opportunity I get (and when I actually have any money) I like to travel and explore, whether thats overseas or just here in Wales. If I can’t travel then i’m usually reading about the world! I’m obsessed with National Geographic magazine which I read cover to cover every month and I’m also a little bit obsessed with News now that it available so quickly through my iphone!

I’m also a fitness fan and love walking, gymming, swimming and doing Yoga which i’ve now been practicing for nearly 2 years.

I am currently working at the Wales Millennium Centre to pay the bills until the next bit of media work comes up. Still its not a bad place to work since you get to see everything for free!

I live in Cardiff which is a great place to live and work, but my family home is in the very Beautiful Brecon Beacons so i’m a country girl at heart!
